About
Paola (パオラ) is Papi's car/elephant pet.
Appearance
Paola is a light pale green colored elephant. Her head is entirely organic, while her body is motorized. She is decorated with jewels on her head and bumper stickers on her car half. On both sides of Paola, bullet holes are visible. She was originally an elephant, but is now a car.[1]
In 「MY CAR」 it is implied that any vehicle can be operated with an animal head in place of an engine, as Papi uses Kedamono's head in place of Paola's, which was stolen by Popee.
Personality
Paola appears to be quite intelligent, as she seemed to realize Popee's ulterior motives in 「ELEPHANT」.
Paola gets along well with her owner, Papi, and Kedamono, who appears to be friends with her. She allows him to feed her and ride around on her roof. Paola dislikes Popee enough to trample him. She has also beat him with a mace, which Papi gave her to replace the trunk Popee had cut off and fed to them. Her dislike for Popee is well-deserved, as he has treated her rather awfully.
Trivia
- Paola is the only other female character that appeared in the show besides the UFO Girls.
- The bumper stickers on her body are from Kunashir Island, Iturup island, the Habomai Islands, and Shikotan island.[2]
- Paola dies a total of 4 times.
