Onomadek (鏡ケダモノ lit. mirror beast) is a character who appeared in episode 33, 「MIRROR」, Onomadek represents Kedamono's hidden side, and vice versa.
Appearance
Similarly to Kedamono, Onomadek is an anthropomorphic wolf with pink fur, and has shorts featuring red and white stripes, similar to Popee's pattern. They also have an ever-changing mask exactly like Kedamono's, often with more aggressive expressions. Also like Kedamono, their masks resemble oni, a masked creature from Japanese Folklore.
Personality
Onomadek is mean-spirited and sadistic, much like Popee, as they were first shown attacking Eepop. They show the repressed characteristics of Kedamono, such as violent tendencies, selfishness, and short temper, and hide Kedamono's normal traits, like kindness, timidness, and generosity. For example, Kedamono rarely puts himself before others, like when he sacrifices Popee for chicken wings, but Onomadek is quick to sacrifice others for their own gain.
Trivia
- Like Eepop, they are referred to as Onomadek in the Western fandom. Japanese fans refer to them as "鏡ケダモノ" which is simply "Mirror (kagami) Kedamono."
- Ryuji Masuda, creator of Popee the Performer, has stated in a tweet (using Google Translate) that Mirror counterparts may be female. While this is a highly debated point in the community, there does not appear to be solid proof or confirmation.
- Because Eepop's gender is the same as Popee's, Onomadek may be male like Kedamono.
- There is an easter egg in S1E2 of Funny Pets referencing the wolves' masks, in which Corona dons an ever-changing oni mask that reflects her emotions.
